IT ALL STARTED WITH A NURSE

Who was passionate about helping her patients and LOVED real estate

WHO IS

WHO IS

DANIELLE REED?

GREGORY DAKINS?

Danielle was a brain and spinal cord injury nurse for 18 years before becoming a Certified Life Care Planner, specializing in home evaluations and accessibility recommendations.  She created Accessible Suites to provide fully furnished, short or long term accessible rental options for those in need.

She also works with property owners, real estate agents, and builders to educate them on what true accessibility means because not all disabilities are created equal!

She bought her first property in 2007 when she noticed that the families of the patients in town for rehabilitation had very few options for accommodations after the free, hospital provided 30-days of housing ran out.  The service was dissolved in 2010 so she could focus on a new baby.

In 2017, she bought her first property to transform and make fully Handicap Accessible, giving the disabled have a place to stay when needed.  Some stay while in town for therapy.  Some stay while waiting for housing to be constructed or modified.  Some are just passing through and we have the pleasure of seeing many of them over and over again! Accessible Suites has been housing brain and spinal cord injured clients, as well as transplant recipients that need to remain close to medical care.  We have taken great care of our guests over the years and are ready to grow!

She bought her first property in 2007 when she noticed that the families of the patients in town for rehabilitation had very few options after the 30 day housing the Center provideded ran out.  Comfort Of Home Rentals was born but was dissolved in 2010 to focus on her new baby girl.

In 2017, she bought her first property to make Handicap Accessible so the disabled would then have a place to stay when in town for therapy or while waiting for housing to be contructed or modified.  Or maybe just passing through.  Accessible Suites has been housing brain and spinal cord injured clients, as well as transplant patients that need to remain close to medical care since and is ready to grow!

 THE STORY

2007

As a brain and spinal cord injury nurse, Danielle noticed that families had nowhere to go after the Center provided, 30-day housing ran out.  She bought a nearby condo and provided a fully furnished, utilities included rental.

She quickly saw the value they provided and added 2 more units.  The units were never more than a couple of miles away from the hospital and were significantly more affordable than the nightly rate at any of the nearby hotels and had all of the Comforts Of Home.

2010

While Danielle was actively delivering her baby, the police called and said a paper plane was found with a message written on it stating that someone was being held hostage and the authorities believed they were being held in her unit.  This call came a few weeks after someone in the condo complex opened fire on the neighboring construction site, which terrified the tenants.  With a new baby, plus the stresses of property management, it was too much to handle all at once, so Danielle made the tough decision to close down Comforts Of Home Rentals.

2017

The dream again came alive, this time with the name Accessible Suites.
Grace had no clue what was in store for her...

During the remodel, a longtime friend from high school came over to check out the progress and discovered that Danielle was being taken advantage of by some of the contractors.  Vasio took over the project, fired the subpar providers, and began to do much of the work himself.  The build brought Danielle and Vasio together forever.  His little one didn't know what was in store for her either, but jumped right in to help!

The house was rebuilt with spaces that are fully furnished with utilities included. The units are fully accessible including roll-in showers with built in benches, high and low wall mounted sinks to accomodate manual and power wheelchairs, grab bars and more grab bars, with other small touches that allow for greater accessibility.  Do you need a hoyer lift or shower chair?  Do you prefer an extra bed or a dining room table?   No problem.  We are here to help however we can!

2023
